The nail is designed for perfect fixation of fractures in the trochanter area of the proximal femur’s bone cavity.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IMPLANT:
- The implant is to be inserted through a short incision above the trochanter major:
- to facilitate access to the bone marrow cavity
- to reduce trauma affecting soft tissue and supply of blood to the hip joint
- Usually, it is not necessary to pre-drill the bone marrow cavity:
- to minimize the scope of the surgical wound (patient’s trauma)
- to minimize blood loss
- to shorten the duration of the operation
- Insertion of fixation screws is enough for minimizing the surgical incision.
